Description
Number 76 is a late 18th-century house, now offices, with attached area railings. It is located in Nottingham, facing onto Castle Place and Hounds Gate. The building is principally brick with stucco and ashlar dressings, and has a hipped slate roof. It is three storeys high plus a basement, and has a two-window front to Castle Place. The main facade features glazing bar sash windows with wedge lintels and keystones on each floor; the second-floor windows are smaller. The basement has two segment-headed tripartite windows. The cast and wrought-iron area railings have a chamfered ashlar plinth. The entrance front, onto Hounds Gate, has a round-arched doorway with steps and fanlight, panelled double doors, and a segment-arched glazing bar sash window to the right. Above the doorway are two windows on each floor, mostly glazing bar sashes.
