Description

57 and 59 Castle Gate are two houses that have been converted into offices. They were built in the mid-18th century, altered in the early 19th century, and converted in the late 20th century. The exterior is finished in stucco with ashlar dressings and features a plain tile roof with a rebuilt ridge stack. The building has a plinth and a coped plain parapet. It stands two storeys high and has a two-window range of 16-pane sash windows. On the ground floor, there is a similar sash window to the left, flanked by simple wooden doorcases with cornices. To the right is a half-glazed door, and to the left is a six-panel door.
