Description
Severns' Building, now known as The Lace Centre, is a former house dating from around 1450, which has been relocated from Middle Pavement and re-erected here in 1968 by FWB Charles. The building features a timber-framed structure with rendered nogging and a plain tile roof. It has a coursed rubble plinth and a jettied first floor supported by brackets. The building is two storeys high and consists of three bays. The framing is regular, with arch braces and three two-light windows that have reconstructed wooden tracery. On the ground floor, there are three windows with wooden mullions on the left side, and to the right, there are two altered bays with mid rails. Further to the right, there is a Tudor arched plank door. The right return and rear of the building also display regular framing with a mid rail. Inside, the building features a crown post roof with curved braces.
