Description

This is a three-storey house, dating from the early 18th century, which has been altered in the mid-19th and mid-20th centuries and is now used as offices. The exterior is stucco, colourwashed, with an ashlar plinth and dressings, and a slate roof. It is a corner block with a five-window range of plain sash windows on the front elevation. Above these are five smaller casement windows from the 20th century. A central, 19th-century painted ashlar doorcase features an entablature and a round-arched double door. To either side of the doorcase are two boarded windows. The return elevation to St Mary’s Gate has two 16-pane sashes, and above those, two 12-pane sashes. It also includes an off-centre round-arched door with six panels, and two boarded windows to the right. The interior is said to contain an original staircase and fireplaces.
