Description
This is a terrace of eight town houses, now used as offices and shops. The houses were likely built around 1840 and were restored in the late 20th century. They are constructed of red brick with painted stucco dressings, and have slate roofs with seven substantial ridge stacks. The buildings have brick plinths, sill bands to the upper floors, and a rendered, coped parapet. The terrace is stepped to follow the rising ground, with projecting end bays. The windows are mostly original sash windows with glazing bars, set within wedge lintels. The ground floor features moulded stucco doorcases topped with flat hoods supported on brackets, alternating with windows. The doors are mostly renewed four-panel doors. The upper floors have regular window placement, with smaller windows on the second floor. The left-hand end bay has a recessed rounded corner with a doorway flanked by single shop windows on each side. The shopfront is largely renewed, featuring pilasters and a cornice on scroll brackets. Above the doorway, remains of a crest are visible. The left return side of the terrace has three windows of varying sizes.
