Description

Haydn Road Primary School Annexe is a board school, now serving as a primary school annexe, dating from 1877 and restored in the late 20th century. It is constructed from rockfaced Bulwell stone with ashlar dressings and features slate roofs with tile crests and various shouldered stacks. The building is designed in the Gothic Revival style, characterized by a plinth and coped gables.

The windows are primarily reglazed, featuring stone mullions and transoms, with pointed arched windows that have hood moulds. The structure is single storey and consists of three bays by three bays. The entrance front showcases a central through-eaves gabled window flanked by two cross-mullioned lancets, with a triple slit ventilator above. To the right, there is a projecting square tower porch with three stages, which includes a double chamfered pointed arched doorway and a shaped datestone above it, followed by a pair of lancets and a single lancet on each side. The upper stage is blank panelled.

To the right of the porch, there is a single light window, and to the left, a two-light mullioned window, both of which are flat-headed. The right return features three gables, with the smaller left gable containing a pointed arched window, while the other two have cross mullioned windows. Further to the right, there is a set-back rear range with a graduated triple lancet window. The left return has gabled wings at each end, featuring a graduated cross mullioned triple lancet window with a triple slit ventilator. In the center, there is a gabled through-eaves window with two lancets, and to its right, a two-light mullioned window.
