Description
The garden wall and lych gate at Clawson Lodge were built in 1885 by Watson Fothergill of Nottingham for Mr. Doubleday, a lace manufacturer. The wall is made of rockfaced Bulwell sandstone and features rounded coping, standing approximately 2 meters high along the south and east boundaries. On the south side, there are a pair of short buttressed gate piers that support a gabled wooden lych gate, which has a plain tile roof and an iron gate. This structure is included for its group value.
