CASTLE STREET Gate, gate-piers and wall in front of and to east of No 24 (Castle House)

GV II C18/19 rusticated stucco gate piers with caps and urns, contemporary cast-iron gates of simple design with arrow-head shafts. Section of probably early C19 wall to right rising to about eight feet, red brick with plain stone coping, the right-hand section is only about four feet high with brick piers rising from it at intervals with plain caps. Included for group value.

All the listed buildings in Castle Street, Castle View and Castle Yard together with Skeffington House, the Iron Gates, Chantry House and Newarke Wall all in The Newarke form a group.
