Description

The Ice House at Allestree Hall is an early 19th-century structure built to serve the household of Allestree Hall. It features a subterranean vaulted brick ice chamber that is circular in shape, with a short vaulted access passage extending southwards to an exposed dog-legged entry, which has a partially fallen brick flanking wall. To the north of the ice chamber, there is an access chute, and a vent connects the vault roof to the surface.
