Description

No. 5 Vernon Street is a detached house dating from around 1840. The building is two storeys high and features three sash windows set within moulded architraves. It has a band and shallow cornice, with pilasters at either end. The porch includes a rectangular fanlight above a four-panelled door, and there is a tripartite window on the ground floor that has no glazing bars, forming a splay-ended projecting bay. The house has bold lined eaves and a hipped slate roof. Nos. 1 to 11 Vernon Street, in consecutive order, form a group.
