Description
Headless Cross is a structure that likely dates back to the Early Medieval period. It consists of a fragment of a tapered stone shaft set on a large square base, which is accompanied by three stone steps. This cross was originally located at the west end of Friar Gate and is believed to have been a Plague Cross. In June 1979, it was relocated back to its position on Friar Gate.
