Description

This is a detached house, dating to around 1840. Constructed of stucco, it is two storeys high and features two sash windows, each fitted with Venetian shutters. The ground-floor windows are accentuated by stucco bands and shallow pediments. A doorway is located on the side of the building; it originally featured an iron verandah, but now has a plain porch. The building has bold, lined eaves and a hipped slate roof. Numbers 1 to 11, Vernon Street, form a notable architectural grouping.
