Description
11A St Mary's Gate is an early 19th-century building, with its core likely dating back to the 18th century. It is constructed of red brick, with the ground floor covered in cement render. The building stands three storeys tall and features a three-light wooden mullioned window with a cambered head. The wood doorcase is adorned with reeded pilasters and has a small hood above, leading to a modern door. The structure has a stoned-coped parapet and a coped gable end on the left, topped with tiles.
This building is part of a group that includes Nos 10, 11, and 11A, the former Rural District Council Offices, No 18, County Hall, as well as the forecourt wall, gate piers, gates, and railings of County Hall and the Police Station.
