Description
No. 3 St Mary's Gate is an early to mid-19th century building constructed of red brick with stone dressings. It is two storeys high, with a central window that slightly projects. On either side of the central window, there are two sash windows, all of which are framed in moulded stone architraves. The central window features a panelled apron, while the first-storey windows retain their glazing bars. The building has a floor band, a stone plinth, and a doorway that is surrounded by moulded stone pilasters. Above the door is a rectangular fanlight, and there is a cornice hood supported by consoles over a six-flush-panelled divided door. The ground storey windows have a sill band, and the building is finished with a plain frieze, a dentilled eaves cornice, and a blocking course.
