Description
The building is a police station, originally an inn, dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of red brick and has two storeys with two windows featuring modern sash designs. The façade includes keyblocks and channelled lintels, a moulded stone plinth, and a decorative moulded panel displaying the Royal Arms of William III framed between the first-storey windows. The long return sides of the building have four windows each and generally modern doorways. The police station is part of a group that includes Nos 10, 11, and 11A, the former Rural District Council Offices, No 18, County Hall, as well as the forecourt wall, gate piers, gates, and railings of County Hall and the police station.
