Description

This is a pair of early 18th-century cottages located in Warmfield-cum-Heath. The cottages are constructed of well-coursed gritstone, with a stone slate roof to number 1 and a 20th-century pantile roof to number 2. They consist of two single-cell units, arranged over two storeys and featuring four bays in total. The outer bays have doorways with depressed Tudor-arched lintels, composite jambs, and stop-chamfered surrounds. The central two bays originally contained a three-light window on each floor, now lacking mullions, and set within plain stone surrounds. A coped gable with kneelers is present on the right-hand side only. A central square brick stack is visible. The rear elevation exhibits a mid-20th-century brick outshut with a lean-to roof, positioned under the remains of two former two-light windows. The left-hand return is rendered. The interiors have not been inspected.
