Description
The Whittling Well is a well head and cover dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed from dressed and rock-faced stone. The well features a semi-elliptical archway made with alternately raised rock-faced voussoirs and a dropped keystone. Above the trough, there is a dressed stone intrados with a canted stone front. On either side of the well, there is a short piece of walling that has banded rustication, which terminates in low piers.
