Description

Hollin Hill House is an early 19th-century house, later converted into three flats. It is located on Oakwood Lane in Oakwood, Leeds. The house has two storeys and originally three bays, with a recessed bay on the right-hand side. It is constructed of ashlar and has a hipped roof covered in stone slate. The front, overlooking the garden, features a central doorway with an architrave and cornice, containing a six-panel door and a fanlight. The original sash windows have been replaced with cross-frame casements. At the rear, the end bays project as cross wings, and a porch and outshut have been added. A central staircase window is round-headed and its sash panes are frosted, featuring painted armorial shields, coats of arms, Classical statues, and the motto 'FORTRIS IN ARDUIS'. The interior has not been inspected. It is believed that the house was once the home of the Aykroyd family.
