Description

Eller Close is a large house, later converted into flats, dating from the early 19th century and altered in the 20th century. It is constructed of ashlar. The house has a low-pitched slate hipped roof with end stacks located behind the ridge, and features a cornice and blocking course. It is two storeys high and comprises seven bays. The windows are sash windows; those on the first floor have glazing bars and are unusually tall, with plate glass on the ground floor. A first-floor band runs along the building. The central first-floor window has a casement with a moulded, shouldered architrave and cornice. The central entrance is marked by a large porch with fluted Doric columns and square corner piers supporting a heavy entablature, and contains a glazed door with side-lights. The interior has not been inspected.
