United Reformed church, now offices. 1864. By Cuthbert Brodrick. Rock-faced coursed gritstone, ashlar details, slate roof. Nave and aisles with tower at SE corner. Gothic Revival style. S front: a steep flight of stone steps, flanking wall with chamfered coping, rises to a shallow gabled porch with paired doors in traceried arches, outer moulded arch, attached columns, gable over with carved roundel at apex. Cusped lancet windows to aisles, rose window above. 3-stage tower to right with moulded angles and stone spire. Left and right returns: aisles have tall 2-light lancets with rose windows at heads and small gables over, buttresses between crowned by fine carved grotesque animals. INTERIOR: not inspected, but reputed to contain cast-iron columns with foliage at capitals.
