Description

The gate piers and wall to Number 48, Ashwood, were built around 1836 and are possibly designed by John Child. They are constructed from coursed squared gritstone, featuring ashlar piers. The walls are approximately 2 meters high and have chamfered coping, extending about 30 meters in length. The gate piers are octagonal with deep moulded pyramid capstones. At the western end, the wall connects to the boundary wall of Number 2 North Hill Road. This structure is included for its group value.
