Description
Holmfield is a house built in 1835 by J Calvert, a dyer, and is designed in the Tudor style. The building is constructed from coursed stone and features a slate roof. It has two storeys and two gabled bays. The east facade includes a large wooden porch with cusped headed lights, windows that have chamfered reveals and dripmoulds, a canted oriel, and a stone shield in the gable. The gables are topped with moulded stone copings, and there are octagonal chimney stacks with cornices. This house was part of a building speculation by J Calvert. The interior has not been inspected.
