Description
Blenheim Terrace Number 15, now serving as an office, was built between 1834 and 1839 and converted in the 20th century. The building features red brick with a stone basement and dressings, topped with a slate roof. It stands two storeys high with a basement and an added attic, and has five first-floor windows. A central flight of ten stone steps leads to a panelled door, which is topped by a large rectangular overlight set in a stone surround. This surround is decorated with pilasters that support an entablature and a dentilled cornice, along with a moulded pediment. The flanking and first-floor windows have flat brick arches, stone sills, and sill bands, with plate-glass sashes. There are 20th-century dormers, and the building features a moulded stone eaves cornice and end stacks.
Inside, it is reputed to retain original plasterwork, including ceiling cornices and roses, as well as surviving fireplaces. The property also includes subsidiary features such as stone gate piers, which are square in section, approximately 2 meters high, tapering, and topped with pedimented capstones that display a raised laurel wreath motif. The boundary walls flanking the gate piers and along the northern side of the forecourt are made of brick, approximately 1 meter high, and feature roll-moulded stone coping. For historical context, refer to Number 2 Blenheim Terrace, Woodhouse Lane.
