Description
5 and 6 Blenheim Terrace are two terraced houses, now used as offices, built between 1834 and 1839. They are located on the University Campus of Leeds, on Woodhouse Lane. The houses have undergone alterations in the late 19th century and the 20th century. They are constructed of red brick with a slate roof, and extend over three storeys plus a basement. Each house is two windows wide, with an entrance on the left side. They feature panelled doors with fanlights, set within stone architraves that have keystones. Number 5 has a 20th-century stone porch and a bay window to the right. Number 6 has a stuccoed bay window that rises from the basement, with flat brick arches over the first and second-floor windows, stone sills, and four-pane sashes. A ridge stack is located to the right of each property. The interior has not been inspected. The site includes stone gate piers, approximately 2 metres high, with corniced tops and shallow pyramid caps. Low forecourt walls, brick and rendered and rebuilt in places, with stone copings, are located along the front and north sides. For historical context, see the listing for Number 2 Blenheim Terrace.
