Description

This guide-post, located directly opposite the junction with Littlemoor Road, dates from the mid-18th century and was defaced around 1940. It is made of roughly squared gritstone and features incised 18th-century lettering that reads "Miles." Although the distances and places are now obscured, the 1908 25-inch Ordnance Survey map indicates that it originally showed distances to Wakefield (11 miles) and Morley (5 miles).
