Description

No. 2 Town Street is a Grade II listed building, originally built around 1848 as the headmaster's house for Farsley National Schools. The structure is made of hammer-dressed stone and features a Welsh blue-slate roof. It stands two storeys tall with an attic and has a symmetrical three-bay facade. The central bay projects slightly and includes a doorway with a chamfered architrave and a hoodmould above it. There is a two-light chamfered mullioned window above this doorway, topped by a gabled dormer that has a small attic light. The flanking bays each have two-light chamfered mullioned windows on both floors, with hoodmoulds over the ground floor windows. The building has coped gables with moulded ashlar coping and end stacks, one of which is corbelled with paired diagonally-placed flues. It faces the main street, with the Farsley National Schools located at right angles to the rear.
