Description

This is a United Methodist Chapel, constructed around 1856. It is located on the north side of Bradford Road in Pudsey, near Stanningley. The chapel has a facade of ashlar stone, with hammer-dressed stone to the sides and rear, and a Welsh blue-slate roof. It is a low single-story building with a pedimented gable. The symmetrical front has three bays and includes a plinth, angle pilasters above which a moulded cornice projects, and moulded coping to the pediment. The central doorway has raised jambs, imposts, and panelled spandrels, along with a dentil cornice and blocking course. The reveals and soffit are panelled and splayed. Flanking the doorway are tall, round-headed windows, each with architraves, a sill band, and panelled spandrels that rise into the cornice, with sections of blocking course above. The tympanum features an oculus with an architrave. The returns on the left and right sides have five bays of plain arched windows, each with small voussoirs and projecting sills. A cornice runs along the eaves.
