Description
Leigh House is a house that has been converted into offices, dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of finely-dressed sandstone and features a Westmorland green-slate roof. The building has three storeys and is arranged in three bays, with a two-storey, two-bay wing to the left. Rusticated quoins highlight the separation between the different storeys. The main part of the house includes a central doorway that has a segmental lintel and splayed panelled jambs, flanked by engaged Ionic columns, an entablature, and a dentil cornice. The windows are four-pane sashes set within architraves, and there is a dentil eaves cornice along the roofline. The roof is hipped with two stacks at the ends, while the wing to the left is also hipped. At the rear, there are two tall round-headed stair windows, one positioned above the other.
