Wall with railings and 2 sets of gate piers enclosing playgrounds. 1878. By Richard Adams, School Board architect. Brick wall with stone copings, stone piers, wrought-iron railings and gates. Overall length approx 260m, on E, S and W sides of the school grounds, with a further length of approx 50m dividing the playground area. Gate piers are approx 3.5m tall, square section, deep plinth, chamfered shaft, large gabled capstones with cusped recesses. Gates: 2 pairs, close-set bars, scroll decoration; railings: alternate ball and trefoil finials. The W side, to Methley Terrace, extensively altered when school extended and new access made. INTERIOR: not inspected. Included for group value.
