Description
No. 16 Park Place is a late 19th-century office building constructed of red brick and terracotta, topped with a slate roof. It stands three storeys tall and features five bays. The central entrance consists of a glazed and panelled door with margin lights and a fanlight above, all framed by a large, moulded round-arched terracotta surround adorned with ornamental details in the spandrels and keyblock. The ground floor is entirely covered in decorative relief terracotta tiles, with 4-pane sash windows set in moulded architraves that have triangular and segmental pediments, along with relief decoration in the tympana. The first-floor windows are similar but smaller, while the second-floor windows lack pediments. The interior has not been inspected. This building may be the one mentioned in the circa 1900 catalogue of JC Edwards, the Rhos Glazed Brick and Trefynant Fireclay Works, Pen-y-Bont, which supplied terracotta for buildings in Park Place designed by F Mosley.
