Description

This is a house, built around 1790 and likely rebuilt in the 20th century. It is located on Park Place, Leeds. The house is constructed of red brick with an ashlar plinth and a slate roof. It has three storeys and five bays. The central doorway has a wooden surround with a fanlight and a cornice topped with a pediment. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, sills, and stone wedge lintels. A continuous sill band runs along the first floor, and a moulded eaves cornice is present. Chimneys are set forward of the ridge. The interior has not been inspected. The attached railings have tall finials shaped like buds. The house was originally built on the Wilson estate for merchants and lawyers who were leaving the crowded medieval town centre. It is included on the list for its contribution to the group value of the surrounding buildings.
