Description
No. 49 St Giles Street is a former house now used as offices, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. The building is constructed of red brick, which has been painted at the ground floor. It features rusticated quoins and stringcourses at each floor level. The roof is not visible. The structure has three storeys and five bays.
The central entrance door is adorned with a rectangular fanlight and is flanked by fluted and banded Doric columns, topped with an architrave that includes triglyphs and toxophilic decorations. On either side of the door, there are two large 20th-century casement windows. The first and second floors contain sash windows with glazing bars, each topped with rubbed brick flat arches. There are balconies at the second floor, and the building is finished with a bracket cornice.
