Description

This former farmhouse, now used as a store, is located approximately 10 metres north-east of Ling Bob Farmhouse. It likely dates from the late 17th century and has undergone alterations in the 19th century and later. The building is constructed from coursed squared sandstone in large blocks and features a stone slate roof.

It has a two-unit end-lobby-entry plan with a continuous rear outshut and stands two storeys high. A continuous drip moulding is present above a shaped lintel of a former doorway at the left end, which has been altered into a window. To the right, there are the jambs and head of a former recessed mullioned window that has been removed to create a square wagon entrance. Further right, there is a deeply-recessed four-light mullioned window missing the first and third mullions. On the first floor, there are three coupled 19th-century sashed windows with plain surrounds, although some glazing is damaged or missing.

The gable ends feature copings with moulded kneelers, and there is a cut-down chimney at the left gable and a single-flue chimney at the right gable. The left return wall has an inserted window on the first floor, while the right return wall has a two-light recessed mullion window near the front corner and three inserted windows further back.

At the rear, there is a cat-slide roof over a single-storey wall, which retains the remains of two square recessed mullion windows in the centre, one of which is blocked. There is also a large ragged opening broken through the wall to the right and an inserted doorway to the left, which is a later addition and not included in the listing.

Inside, the left half of the house has a large chamfered beam with a scarf joint approximately two metres from the current chimney breast, indicating a former firehood. The lower end is partitioned, while the rest of the interior has been altered or damaged.
