Description

This is a pair of weaver’s houses, originally built in the 17th century with substantial alterations in the early 19th century. The ground floor is constructed of deeply coursed rubble stone, while the upper floors are of hammer-dressed stone. Quoins are present on all floors. Number 10 has a stone slate roof, and Number 12 has a blue slate roof. The houses are three storeys high. Each property has two large, double-chamfered mullioned and transomed windows, each with 10 lights and a hood mould. To the right of the properties is the original doorway, with chamfered reveals and a Tudor arched lintel containing initials and a date, though these are not legible. A hood mould is above the doorway. A 19th-century doorway is located to the left. Each dwelling also has a single 6-light window on the first and second floors.
