Description
No. 1 Mean Lane is a weaver's house that is part of a row of buildings, dating from the early to mid 19th century. It is constructed of hammer-dressed stone and features a stone slate roof with moulded brackets supporting the gutter. The building has four storeys. On the ground floor, there are two doorways; the one on the left has been altered and partially blocked, while the central opening contains a 3-light window. Above the ground floor, there is a continuous deep band over the openings. Each of the upper floors has one 4-light window. At the rear, the ground and first floors are set back to earth, and there is a taking-in door to the second floor. The third floor has two 3-light windows, one of which has been altered to form a doorway.
