Description

The cross base, located approximately 5 yards south of the Church of St Nicholas in Upper Cumberworth, is a medieval structure that includes a boundary marker from the 18th or 19th century. It features a square stone cross base with spurs and a square stone shaft that is tooled on three sides. The shaft has a moulded base on two sides and is topped with a small, loose moulded cap.
