Description
Broomhill is a large house built in the early 19th century, with possibly later side bays. It is constructed of hammer-dressed stone and features a stone slate roof that is hipped over the side bays, with copings on the gabled front and rear. The building has two storeys, with the central three bays slightly projecting and topped by a gable. There are single window side bays and a central doorway that includes a rectangular fanlight. The entrance is flanked by engaged fluted Doric columns that support an entablature and a segmental pediment. The house has 12-pane sash windows and an oculus at the apex of the gable. A round-arched tall staircase window is located in the rear gable, and there is a sill band at the first-floor level.
