Description

The bridge at Lock 42 on the Huddersfield Narrow Canal was built between 1794 and 1798, likely designed by engineer Benjamin Outram. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features a single span with a segmental arch. Beneath the arch is a setted towpath. The bridge has a parapet with copings and a string course at the base of the parapet. The parapets are corbelled out on each side.
