Description

Numbers 23 and 25, along with the dairy to the rear, date from the early to mid-19th century, with the west side of Number 23 being a later 19th-century addition. The building is constructed from hammer-dressed stone with a pitched stone slate roof and a coped west gable. It features two stone chimneys.

The south elevation has a ground floor with two doors set within stone surrounds, alongside a window with a stone sill and lintel, which is a later addition. A former 5 or 6-light stone mullioned window is present, having had two mullions removed and 1 or 2 lights blocked. The first floor contains a window with a stone sill (again, a later replacement) and two original 3-light stone mullioned windows.

Pitched extensions extend to the east side, including a blocked door with a stone surround. Above this doorway is a stone tablet, with an ornamental surround and the date 1846 inscribed below a carved profile of a cow.
