Description
This is a mid-19th century house constructed from hammer-dressed stone with ashlar dressings, topped with a pitched tile roof. The house features crow-stepped gables on moulded kneelers, and stone brackets to the eaves. A central, gabled bay projects slightly and contains a door with six moulded panels, set within a stilted pointed arch framed by colonnettes with foliate capitals. The first floor of this bay has a three-light mullioned and transomed oriel window, each light featuring cusped plate tracery, and a hipped stone roof. Above this, on the second floor, is a sash window with a trefoiled relieving arch. To the west of the central bay is a single two-light mullioned stone window. The ground floor to the west features two tripartite sash windows, each pair separated by a colonnette with a crocketed capital, and each topped by a parapet with a blind trefoil motif. To the east of the western windows is a blind cusped pointed arcade of three arches on the first floor (with a modern sash window fitted in the central arch), and a tripartite sash window on the ground floor with a colonnette, crocketed capital, and a jointed relieving arch featuring blind tracery within the tympanum. The garden front presents a gable with a canted ground floor bay and a parapet. The first floor has a tripartite sash window with a colonnette, crocketed capital, and pointed cusped relieving arches with hoodmoulds. The second floor has a sash window with a trefoiled relieving arch. A range of two-light stone mullioned windows is located to the north.
