Description
Clyde House is a mid-19th century building located on Edgerton Road. It is constructed of ashlar and has two storeys. The building features a moulded and modillioned eaves cornice, along with a balustraded parapet topped with urn finials and rusticated quoins. There are five ranges of sash windows, with the end windows slightly projecting forward. At either end of the building, there are canted bays supported by panelled Tuscan piers and brackets, which hold up dentilled entablatures on the ground floor. The first floor has moulded window surrounds, while the three central first-floor windows are adorned with mounted surrounds. The building has two doors, each with four moulded panels and segment-headed fanlights set in horizontally rusticated concave-chamfered surrounds, featuring elaborate keystones. These doors are framed by panelled pilasters that support scrolled consoles leading to a triangular dentilled pediment. Additionally, there is a central tripartite sash window on the ground floor, which is also framed by panelled pilasters and scrolled consoles supporting a dentilled cornice.
