Description

The gatepiers to Number 16 on Edgerton Road date from the mid-19th century and are constructed from ashlar stone. They feature chamfered edges and ogee caps, topped with urn finials. The panels of the gatepiers are adorned with carved swags of fruit and flowers in relief. A dwarf wall, also made of ashlar, connects the gatepiers to a third plain pier on the right, which is complemented by a very elaborate cast iron torchere.
