Description

No. 23 Bond Street is a large commercial building constructed in the late 19th century, designed in a Classical style and built of ashlar. The building stands three storeys tall and features seven bays. It has a cornice between the floors and pilaster strips between the bays that support a heavy moulded eaves cornice resting on large paired brackets. The wide entrance is accentuated by a fanlight and a broad segmental pediment held up by three large enriched consoles. The tympanum above the entrance displays a shield with carved foliage decoration. The ground and second floor windows are segmental-headed, adorned with long vermiculated keystones and aprons, while the first floor windows are round-arched with a similar decorative treatment.
