Description

No. 24 Bond Street, which includes No. 19 Croft Street, is a wool textile warehouse and offices built around 1880. The building features ashlar stonework with ashlar dressings and red brick side walls, topped with slate roofs that have a single gable stack and ashlar coped gables.

The Bond Street facade has five storeys and four bays. The rusticated basement contains an off-centre doorway with double panel doors set in a round-headed surround. To the left of the doorway is a single segment-headed plain sash window, and to the right, there is a pair of segment-headed plain sashes, all with iron bars. The plain rusticated upper floor has four round-headed plain sashes with a moulded impost band. Above this, there is a moulded cornice followed by four more round-headed plain sashes, then four segment-headed plain sashes, and finally four flat-headed plain sashes topped with another moulded cornice.

The Croft Street facade has four storeys and five bays. The rusticated ground floor features a large segmental arched cart entrance to the left, followed by two round-headed plain sashes and a round-headed doorway with double panel doors and a large overlight. Above this, there is a moulded cornice and five round-headed plain sashes with a moulded impost band. This is followed by five segment-headed plain sashes and then five flat-headed plain sashes above.
