Description
Moor Head Farmhouse and the adjoining cottage are located on Jagger Lane in Emley Moor. The farmhouse is dated 1769, although it reflects the style of the late 18th century or early 19th century. The cottage is slightly newer. Both buildings are constructed from hammer-dressed stone and feature quoins, with a stone slate roof. They are two storeys high and share a similar character. Each dwelling has a central doorway set within a recent stone porch, flanked by three-light windows on both floors. The farmhouse has a door lintel that is decoratively inscribed with "J.H. 1769," while the cottage has a later single light window above its door. There is a gabled wing at the rear of the cottage.
