Description
Longmoor Head Farmhouse is a 17th-century house, dated 1686 and bearing the initials J.J. on the door lintel. An early 19th-century stable was added to the north end, along with later additions to the rear. The house is pebble-dashed with stone detailing, has graduated slate roofs, rendered chimneys, and stone coping to the south end. The main facade is two storeys high and three bays wide. It features a plank door with a false four-centred head, set within a central gabled porch, with casement windows to either side on each floor and a small window above. Chamfered eaves are visible. The rear elevation, dating to the early 19th century, is symmetrical and features kneelers, corner pilasters, and a band between the floors. Inside the original house, there is a remaining inglenook fireplace at the south end with a stone newel stair to the left, and a large, stop-chamfered beam with run-out stops. The stable has a plank door and window with a plank loft door above. A dove cote is located at the top of the stair projection to the left.
