Description
This is a laithe house with an adjoining barn, originally built in the late 18th century and modified in the late 19th century. It is constructed from deeply coursed hammer-dressed stone and features a stone slate roof with later chimneys. The house, located on the right, has a Tudor arched entrance with an inscribed lintel that is thought to read: CRE 16 -- SH. To the right of the entrance, there is a 4-light double chamfered window with two mullions removed and a hood mould. Late 18th-century openings include a 2-light window and a doorway on the left side, as well as a 3-light and a 4-light window on the first floor. Further to the left, there is a square-headed cart entry leading to the barn, which has its left end dating from the late 19th century. There is also a later outshut at the rear of the house.
