Description

These are a group of cottages and underdwellings dating from the early to mid-19th century, located on Gillroyd Lane in Linthwaite. The buildings are constructed from hammer-dressed stone with a pitched stone slate roof, though the roof of number 126 is covered in bitumen. They feature coped gables, footstones, and stone brackets to the west elevation. The properties are two to three storeys tall.

The east elevation has two entrances, each with a stone surround and tie stone, and two mullioned windows on the ground floor, originally with four lights but with two mullions removed from one. Above, there are four three-light stone mullioned windows on the first floor. The west gable has four two-light stone mullioned windows, with one window blocked and another having one mullion removed. The west elevation itself has two entrances with stone surrounds and tie stones; two original four-light stone mullioned windows on the ground floor; four three-light stone mullioned windows on the first floor; and four three-light stone mullioned windows on the second floor.
