Description

No. 199 is a house located at Lane Top, dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It is part of a row of houses and is constructed of hammer-dressed stone, with some parts rendered. The roof is pitched and covered with stone slates. There is one footstone on the south gable, which is coped. The house has two storeys, with the ground floor at the back level with the earth.

On the west elevation, the ground floor features a four-light stone mullioned window, and there is a matching four-light stone mullioned window on the first floor. The east elevation has a ground floor that is back-to-earth. The south gable includes a single-storey extension with a stone flag roof, while a later extension has a slate roof.
