Description

This is a 17th-century barn, originally part of Broadfield Farm and later used as tanner's buildings. It's constructed of coursed rubble with large quoins, and has a pitched roof covered in stone slates. The barn is approximately one and a half storeys high. The east gable features a dovecote in the apex and a variety of large openings and smaller ventilation slits, some of which are now blocked. A small doorway is present with large quoins to the reveals, a chamfered reveal, and a large lintel shaped with a Tudor arch. The west gable backs onto the ground level at ground floor and has small openings in the apex. A large doorway is present with stone surrounds. The north elevation has a continuous outshut extension and a large central doorway with large quoins.
